Rocky Road Fluff

When I was little, I loved the Oreo dirt dessert with gummy worms. When I came across the Oreo Fluff recipe on Chef in Training, I really wanted to try this grown-up version of the classic dirt dessert.


I went to the grocery store to get the ingredients, but had to improvise because they did not carry white chocolate instant pudding. So, I decided to create my own Rocky Road version, using chocolate pudding and brownie bits. Unfortunately, this dessert fell short of my expectations. First, my final product did not turn out as thick as the Oreo Fluff pictures shown on the Chef in Training blog post.* Secondly, there was no huge wow factor with the taste or presentation; it all turned out just o.k. If I decide to give this recipe another shot, I think I will add different mix-ins (less marshmallows, more brownies, some Oreos, and different flavor chocolate chips). You could also use the pudding mixture as a pie base, serve it in an Oreo pie crust, and drizzle it with fudge and caramel sauce. The possibilities are endless, which is the beauty of this fluff recipe; I just need to try different combinations until I find the perfect one for my taste buds. *Update: The reason my Rocky Road Fluff did not turn out as thick as I was hoping was because I used almond milk. Your pudding will not set if you use almond or soy milk. Be sure to grab skim milk if you plan on making this recipe!

Rocky Road Fluff
(Serves 4-6)

1 3.4-ounce box instant chocolate pudding
2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk skim milk
1 8-ounce container fat free Cool Whip, thawed
2 cups mini marshmallows
6 individual packages of 100 Calorie Right Bites Mini Brownies

Add pudding and milk to a large bowl; mix for 2 minutes on medium speed of electric mixer, or until pudding starts to thicken. Fold in thawed Cool Whip. Next, fold in the marshmallows and mini brownies. Place the mixture in your refrigerator overnight to allow the pudding to set. Serve chilled and garnish with marshmallows, chocolate chips, and/or nuts.

    1. Haha well it is easy enough to make! I think I'm going to try it with Oreos next time. Maybe throw in a few gummy worms too for old time's sake :)
