S'morewich

Are you sitting down? Chances are yes if you are reading this on a computer or laptop. If you are browsing my blog on your phone, then go ahead and take a seat. I have some pretty big news: I think I might have invented the new and improved peanut butter and jelly sandwich! Well, to be totally honest, I think anything is an improvement over peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Please tell me I'm not the only one. I've never particularly enjoyed peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. In fact, when I was younger I always asked my dad to hold the jelly and just give me extra peanut butter. I was a pb fan from my earliest days. When I felt the need for an extra sugar rush, I always added a few scoops of marshmallow fluff to my peanut butter sandwiches. This treat, which is known as a fluffernutter sandwich, is still one of my favorite comfort foods.

But I think I might have even topped my beloved fluffernutter sandwich. And I don't toss that statement around lightly. This is serious business. Are you still sitting? Ok, good. This S'morewich is probably the best, sweet treat sandwich that I have ever had. Way better than any peanut butter sandwich you will ever try, I can promise you that.

This S'morewich is made with Graham Bread, which has ground graham crackers in the bread batter. The taste of graham crackers in soft, chewy slices of bread? Don't think it can get any better than that. Well, actually it can when you put a few spoonfuls of marshmallow fluff and Nutella, chocolate frosting, chocolate peanut butter, or any other delicious chocolate spread in between the two slices; THEN it can't get any better. The largest s'more that you can eat any time of day, any time of year, with no campfire needed. Bye PB&Js, you will never be missed!

2 slices of Graham Bread
2 Tbsp marshmallow fluff

  2. Nice blog post, but I cannot think of any sandwich better than the PB&J.

Think about it. When you consider the how long it takes to make the sandwich (~10 seconds), the cost of the ingredients ($.50 per sandwich, probably lower), the perfect combination of savory, salty, and sweet, and the "nostalgia factor" (we all miss being a kid and eating a pb&j made by mom.) The PB&J is the ultimate sandwich.

With that said I look forward to trying your S'morewich.

    1. Benefits of a s'morewich to a PB&J:

-a s'morewich takes the same about of time, but TASTES better
-a s'morewich will never get soggy, unlike PB&J
-a s'morewich has similar costs to a PB&J (the marshmallow fluff is cheaper than jam, but the chocolate frosting or Nutella is probably slightly more than standard peanut butter)
-anything s'mores beats everything else, hands down
-I licked peanut butter off of a spoon growing up, so any sandwich with peanut butter has the nostalgia factor for me.

Thanks for your thoughtful comment Brian! Guess we should both get to work before we get fired. :)
