This is the last of my girl weekend posts. Sigh. These girl weekend posts started with a cocktail (a Strawberry Slushi Cocktail to be exact), so why not end the girl weekend posts with another cocktail?
My friend Sarah had the idea to make sangria. So we stopped by Whole Foods to grab whatever random fruits appealed to us, ran by the ABC store for some Triple Sec, and mixed up our very own Summertime Sangria creation. After one taste of this drink, I'm convinced we should quit our day jobs and become full-time sangria makers. While this recipe is perfect and delicious as is, feel free to add any combination of fruits you would like.
Summertime Sangria
(Serves 6)
1 bottle (750 ml) white wine
1/2 cup Triple Sec
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 Pink Lady apple, sliced
1 peach, pitted and sliced
1 pint strawberries, hulled
12 ounces diet ginger ale
Prepare fruits and place in a large pitcher. Add entire bottle of white wine, triple sec, and sugar and stir. Place pitcher in refrigerator for at least 4 hours. When ready to serve, add diet ginger ale to sangria and mix.
