Black Cherry Chocolate Smoothie

I can't believe Greek Week is almost over! I started off with so many tubs of Chobani yogurt, all which have been used to make delicious recipes. Looks like I need to go out and buy more flavors and do a Greek Week Part Dos. But that's getting ahead of myself. Let's focus on this yummy and refreshing Black Cherry Chocolate Smoothie.

This smoothie is very similar to my Strawberry Banana Smoothie, but uses Chobani Black Cherry Greek Yogurt and frozen cherries. You can use the base of the recipe (banana, milk, sweetener, and ice) to make many different kinds of smoothies by adding different flavors of yogurt (or cottage cheese...I promise it's amazing!), various fruits, and other add-ins, such as chia seeds, cocoa powder, protein powder, peanut butter, PB2, spinach...the list goes on. The bottom line is that this recipe is nearly impossible to mess up. I've tried a few different variations and I've always found that this recipe produces the best combination of flavors and the perfect thick-but-not-too-thick smoothie. Plus, it is good for you and super quick and easy to make. It's hard to find many recipes that fit that description, and when I do I make them again and again. So, if you are a fan of chocolate covered cherries and want to attempt to capture that flavor in a smoothie, pull out your blender and mix up this recipe!

Black Cherry Chocolate Smoothie
(1 smoothie)

1/2 banana
1/4 cup frozen cherries
1/4 cup Chobani Black Cherry Greek Yogurt
1/4 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 Tbsp cocoa powder
2 packets stevia (or sweetener of choice)
handful of ice

Add all of the ingredients to a blender and blend for 30 seconds, or until all ingredients are mixed together. Add more ice for a thicker smoothie or more milk to thin the smoothie. Add a spoonful of Chobani Black Cherry Yogurt on top of the smoothie before eating.

  4. Hmm…your Black Cherry Chocolate Smoothie looks pretty tasty, Elaine. :) Black cherries are considered to have low calories, so it's healthy to use as a smoothie ingredient. Actually, there are 100 calories and 3 grams of fiber in every cup of cherries.
